The Gripper

Protecting you from the elements

The Gripper is a magnetic umbrella holder designed to hold an Umbrella in place where needed, it is great for Technicians who work outside in the harsh elements of our times.(E.G.) HVAC, Telephone, and Cable Service Technicians. Also great for tailgating at ball games and cookouts on the grill, and for the welder welding on large outdoor equipment. It will help contractors and their employees perform quality work in the heat and elements. The Gripper will allow the service technician the ability to hold a beach-style umbrella on ferrous materials quickly, easily and securely. Thus making working conditions up to 10-20 degrees cooler in the summer months, and providing melanoma protection. The top and side mount makes it easily attachable to many different areas of the unit. The Gripper is reasonably affordable and saves time and productivity by adding hands-free protection from the elements for the service tech.

Our product

The Gripper with two 200 lb pull, rare earth magnets

This Gripper has two 200 lb pull, rare earth magnets that provide around 400 pounds of pull to ferrous materials. It is designed to hold a beach-style umbrella, ( 6' to 7' umbrellas work the best and pole size 1" to 1, 1/4" ) keeping you cooler and providing melanoma protection. It can attach to either the top or sides of the AC unit. It is also designed to allow the umbrella pole to go all the way to the roof or ground so that it does not have to support the whole weight of the umbrella, thus giving it better support in windy conditions, making it a very universal heating and air conditioning tool or tech tool for safety, by giving you the shade and protection where you need it. The Gripper is also available with two other options. One with 500 lbs of pull or two, with the Stabilizer for the 400 lb pull adding an additional 200 lbs of pull. Both with an additional cost. Click on store, to order, or call us.
Note:
The umbrella is not included.

Neodymium Magnet Safety

These neodymium magnets on the Gripper are extremely strong. They must be handled with care to avoid personal injury or damage to the magnets. Use caution when you are working with these magnets. They have such a strong force and can attract to metal with such strength that fingers could become injured between them.

         Using            The Gripper

When attaching your HVAC umbrella holder, the Gripper to an HVAC unit, be aware of where the duct smoke detection equipment is located on commercial package units. The strength of the magnets can at times set off the alarm, so do not place gripper overtop of detectors.

On high windy days, the gripper will work best using the side or top mount with the umbrella pole going all the way to the roof or ground. In field testing the side mount performed best on high windy days. Always use caution on very high windy days!

Health Effects

Individuals with pacemakers or internal medical devices should use caution when handling strong magnets. Magnetic fields may affect the operation of these devices. Consult your physician and the manufacturer of your medical device to determine its susceptibility to static magnetic fields prior to handling magnets. All magnetic products should be kept at a safe distance from individuals with these devices.

Handling

NEODYMIUM MAGNETS SHOULD BE KEPT OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. NEODYMIUM MAGNETS ARE NOT TOYS. SECURE MAGNETS WHEN UNATTENDED. Children should not be allowed to handle or play with these magnets.

Neodymium magnets are made of a hard, brittle material. Despite being made of metal, and the shiny, metallic appearance of their nickel plating, they are not as durable as steel.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures of above 80 degrees C or (175 degrees F)

Stabilizer

 The Stabilizer

The video is showing the prototype. The small photo is the actual Stabilizer attached to the Gripper. This can be added to the Gripper that is equipped with the mounting hole in front of the handle

The Stabilizer is powder coated same  as The Gripper. It can be put on either side. This gives the Gripper plenty of stability in windy conditions.
